The hostel Gortys created and operates with respect to the environment and with zero emissions. Our facility is rated as energy class A, the only one in the prefecture of Arcadia and one of the few in the whole of Greece. For this purpose, strong insulation and energy-frames installed at the shells of buildings, while for our daily needs, use renewable energy sources that provide us with free hot water, heating and air conditioning in our rooms. Kronos was the leader and the youngest of the first generation of Titans, gods and descendants of Gaia and Uranus. He defeated his father, Uranus, and ruled during the mythological Golden Age, until he was defeated by his son Zeus.
Rea
Rea in Greek mythology was the mother of the god Zeus. She was a titan, wife and sister of Titan Cronus, who determined the flow of things. Next to Cronus, Rhea (means in Greek: “the one who flows”) helped her husband by specifying traffic and succession.
Arkas
According to mythology, was the son of Zeus and Artemis’s nymph and Lycaon’s daughter, Callisto, which Zeus fell in love. The fruit of this love was Arkas.
Gortys
First settler of ancient Gortys, according to mythology, was the Gortys, Stymphalos’s son and descendant of Arkas.
Mainalo
Mainalo with peak at 1980m.,occupies almost the entire northern part of the area of Arcadia. Surrounded to the east, of the mountains Oligyrtos, Trachi, Lirkio and Artemision, to north, of the Aroania and Erymanthos, to west, of the Minthi and Lykaio and to south of Taygetos and Parnonas.
Pausanias
Pausanias was a Greek traveler and geographer, of the 2nd century, who lived in the time of Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius. He is famous for writing “Hellados Periegesis”, of which “Arkadika” is the eighth book Dias
Dias is a child of Kronos and Rhea, and brother of the other gods, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon. Because Saturn was wiping his children by swallowing them immediately after birth, Rhea fled to Arcadia, in Mount Lykaio, where Zeus was born safely.
Lousios
Lousios is a river of Arcadia, a tributary of Alpheus, with length of approximately 23 km. According to tradition, it got its name because in its waters, the newborn Jupiter was bathed by the nymphs Neda, Agno and Theisoa.
Suite "Panas"
Panas the "goat-footed god." According to the prevailing traditions he was born on Mount Lykaion in Arcadia. But once his mother saw him, she left him, terrified of his form. He had two goat horns on his head, pointy ears, and bearded goat-footed. Callisto
