Pausanias
Pausanias was a Greek traveler and geographer, of the 2nd century, who lived in the time of Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius. He is famous for writing “Hellados Periegesis”, of which “Arkadika” is the eighth book. Fascinated by Arcadia, which in those days was a place with multitude of ancient and "paradoxical" cults, he devoted the most extensive and detailed description of all the regions of Greece.
